Board members were asked to attend the Public Hearing for the location of the New Senior Center held on February 25, 2009.  Mayor Driscoll presented her recommendations for the future senior center site; Memorial Drive, Boston and Bridge Street and Fort Lee.  Mayor Driscoll proposed to build an approximately five million dollar building at the Boson and Bridge Street site.  High Rock LLC responded to the RFP and if this site is approved building could start as early as the fall of 2009.  The new center would be a three story building with the 20,000 square foot senior center located on the first floor.  There would be no condo fee’s attached to this location.  This new site will also add additional parking; 273 parking spaces compared to the 25 spaces that the center currently has.  The architects spoke and presented the building and architectural plans for the new center.  The meeting was then opened to the public for questions and response to the proposed site.

Next Meeting:  March 18, 2009 at 6:30 p.m.
