MINUTES MAY 3, 2006 SPECIAL MEETING

        A Special Meeting of the City Council was held in the Council Chamber on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at 9:30 P.M. for the purpose of discussing Rezoning of Szetela Lane site.  Notice of this meeting was posted on April 28, 2006 at 11:09 A.M.

        All Councillors were present

        
Council President Jean Pelletier presided.


Councillor O’Leary moved to dispense with the reading of the record of the previous meeting. It was so voted.

        Council President Pelletier opened the meeting by allowing Mayor Kimberley Driscoll to speak on the issue of the rezoning of Szetela Lane.

        Councillor President Pelletier opened the meeting for public comment.


#307A – (#169) – REZONING OF SZETELA LANE PARCELS FROM R-2 TO R-3

Councillor Lovely offered the following report for the Committee of the Whole. It was voted to accept the report.

The Committee of the Whole to whom was referred the matter of Amending Zoning for the Szetela Lane site from R-2 to R-3, has considered said matter and would recommend it be reported out with no recommendation.

Councillor O’Keefe moved for first passage not withstanding the Committees recommendation. The motion did not carry by roll call vote of 6 yeas, 5 nays, 0 absent.
     Councillors Blair, Furey, Lovely, O’Keefe, Veno and Pelletier were recorded as voting in the affirmative. Councillors Corchado, O’Leary, Prevey, Sargent and Sosnowski were recorded as voting in the negative. (requires 2/3’s vote, 8 votes to pass.)

Councillor O’Keefe moved for immediate reconsideration in the hopes it would not prevail. Reconsideration was denied.


On the motion of Councillor O’Keefe the meeting adjourned at  9:45 P.M.
