Housing Rehabilitation Assistance
Have you been thinking of making improvements to your property?  In addition to the housing rehabilitation assistance offered through the City of Salem, there are a number of other home improvement resources available.  Programs typically offer low interest loans to income-qualified owners:

Financing available to income eligible households for home repairs
Property must be owner occupied 1-4 units
Property must be the principal residence of the borrower for more than one year

Available to any homeowner who has a disability, has a household member who has a disability, or rents to an individual with a disability.
Funds can be used to make access modifications necessary to allow people to remain in their homes and live independently in their communities.

North Shore Community Action Programs, Inc.(NSCAP) works on the North shore to help low-income people empower themselves as they move towards self-sufficiency and to motivate the larger community to be more responsive to the needs of low-income people.  In addition to Energy Conservation Programs, NSCAP provides rental assistance, legal services, and many other valuable resources.
