The Salem Commission on Disabilities declares their monthly meeting:
The Commission will hold their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday  July 17th at 4:00p.m. at the Salem Access Television conference room, 285 Derby St.
The Commission would like to encourage all persons with disabilities and advocates of the disabled to attend.  The Commission also encourages those who attend to voice their opinion and  concerns to help the Commission  make Salem a great place to live for any persons with any disabilities.
All of the Commission’s meetings are taped and may be viewed on Salem’s Access Television channel 16 throughout the month.  For more information please contact Commissioner, Andrew J. LaPointe at 978-745-4289.

Agenda for 07/17/07:

This month’s guest:  Jim Francis.  Mr. Francis is an access technology specialist.  Dave Martel recommended him when Andrew brought up the idea of demonstrating accessible devices for the blind at the Commission meetings and the potential of a separate show on this topic.


Old Business:
(1).  Commission now capable to be 9 members:  Thank you Councilor Sosnowski!  We now may be a 9 member commission due to the approval by the City Council.



(2).)  Variance granted:  The variance request by Salem State was granted by the MAAB…



(3).  Tom St Pierre:  A congratulations goes out to Tom on his appointment to the Director of Inspectional Services.  A great hard working  man for sure.



New Business:



Other:
(1).  Tall ships coming?  The Commission will look into the possible invatation of the Lord Nelson and the sister ship to Salem’s waters..



(2).  New Members:  Dave Martel and David Moisen, both new member to introduce themselves.  Also, D. Moisen would like to discuss the audio and video and plans for taping the Commission’s meetings.  More to come in the fall.
