September 18, 2007
The Salem Commission on Disabilities declares their monthly meeting.  
 The Commission will hold their meeting on September 18, 2007 at 4:00p.m.  All of the Commission’s meetings are held at the Salem Access Television conference room, 185 Derby St.  
The Commission encourages all disabled persons and  their advocates to attend.  The Commission also encourages those who attend to voice their concerns and opinions around the topic of disabilities here in Salem.  
All meetings are taped and may be viewed on the Salem Access Television  channel 16 throughout the month.  For more information, please contact Jean A. Levesque, Assistant A.D.A Coordinator, at 978-745-9595.

Meeting Agenda:
NEW BUSINESS
(A).  Handi-Tot Playground:  A newly formed committee for fund raising.


OLD BUSINESS
(a).  Salem Depot T-Lot:  Continuous lack of enforcement.

(B). AAB update:  The Rock Church on North St. extended and the antique shop by the Hawthorne Blvd.

C). Intersection of Congress and Derby:  To light or not to light.  The Commission’s take on this.

OTHER
(A).  Minutes:  Discussion of audio and type minutes on the website.

(B).  Loring Ave. by Moffat Rd. and surrounding area:  Dave Martel observation of curb cut omission and contact of disabled pedestrian-traveler access to the street.

©.  Dave Moisan:  Introducing himself & his plans to archive past meetings on the web.

(D). St. Peter St. sidewalks and Market Basket signage:  Dave Moisan gives his take on this..

(E). Andy demonstrates two items for the blind:  A color identifier and a talking tape measure designed for the blind.  Great tools to have on hand.

(F).  Volunteer to take minutes:  Carroll Isaacson, Volunteer Coordinator of the Salem Council on Aging, will attend this month’s meeting to help the Commission obtain a volunteer to take the minutes.
