The Salem Commission on Disabilities commenced at 4:05 p.m.
The members present were Jean Levesque, assistant ADA, Coordinator Andrew J. LaPointe member of the Commission on Disabilities, Jack Harris, co-chair. David Moison, computer tech for SATV, David Tract, Liaison for Regional Massachusetts for the Blind, Dave Martel, member of the Commission on Disabilities, and Mike Taylor, David Knowlton.

No updates on decision for North Street curb cuts and crosswalk near Dot and Ray's do to parking issues
On the overpass on North Street there are no curb cuts
Sidewalks need to be level on Traders Way.
10 Federal Street lack of curb cuts
Take 2 meters out of the old Almy's parking lot for handicap parking.
Morency Manor and 27 Charter Street there are no crosswalks or curb cuts.
Need to send letter to the MBTA for snow removal at the train station handicap parking area... Registered letter should be sent to establish a paper trail.
Andy LaPointe would like to purchase a binding tool. The cost would be SI 10 or amount to $2,99 per page.
In the budget right now is $350.
Discussed voting machine for handicapped. Provided by the state which picks up the bill. People at the poll are trained to assist handicapped.
Haunted Happenings. Essex Street more accessible to handicapped.

Andy LaPointe showed the Money Identifier.. Made by a firm in Canada. Cost $280.
100% accuracy. Identifies dominations from $1 to $1000.. The machine identifies the dominations in English as well as Spanish.
Andy also demonstrated the talking weight scale. Cost $75. Made in New York. Provides a digital readout. Quite accurate.
