Clean Sweeps/Earth Day Event

Mayor Kimberley Driscoll cordially invites you to
                                        
'Clean Salem, Green Salem'
Where Clean Sweeps and Salem Recycles unite for an earth-friendly spring event

When: Saturday May 2nd

Where: Salem Common

Clean Sweeps begins at 8:30 am
Green events from 11:30am until 1:30pm

Why: Encourage citizen participation in recycling and clean energy practices

•       Receive a “Salem Recycles” button
•       Meet the winners of the Bin Beautification Contest
•       Enter a raffle for a recycling bin
•       Find the answers to the Recycling Brain Teaser
•       Dispose of your e-waste
•       Receive a free sapling (first 100 participants only)
•       Enjoy music and refreshments
•       View  Big Belly solar trash cans, the City of Salem hybrid vehicle, new recycling truck and more
•       Purchase rain barrels and composters from the City at cost
•       Learn more about the latest recycling, renewable energy and other environmental activities

Schedule of events
8:30 am-11:30 am: City-wide clean up
11:30 am-1:30 pm: Recycling Displays, Recycling Brain Teasers, Renewable Energy Information
Noon: Bin Beautification Judging by Salem Arts Association
1 pm: Raffles  (must be present to win)

Bike or walk to the event and you can enter a raffle to win a Rain Barrel
