A Design Public Hearing will be held by MassHighway (Project #601017) to discuss the proposed Reconstruction of Bridge Street project in Salem, MA.

PURPOSE:


The purpose of this hearing is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed reconstruction of Bridge Street project. All views and comments made at the hearing will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.


PROPOSAL:


The proposed project consists of the reconstruction of Bridge Street from approximately the intersection at Ames Street to approximately the intersection at Howard Street Extension, including reconstruction of the traffic signal at Webb Street, updating the flashing beacon at Winter Street/Northey Street, and providing enhanced pedestrian crossings at Skerry Street and Osgood Street. The project includes pavement reconstruction, sidewalk reconstruction landscaping and lighting. In addition, the project includes construction of a new 10 foot wide multi-use path connection between the recently completed Bridge Street bypass and Cross Street.
