No Place for Hate Committee
Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, February 1, 2011
5:30 p.m.

Present: Meghann Ackerman, Jeff Cohen, Lucy Corchado, Jean Rockett, Scott Weisberg (chair)

Public Comment: Jeff Cohen said the case against his former tenant who had allegedly texted him threatening and anti-Semitic comments was continued to March 16. He said the victims’ advocate has been great.

He said he and Lt. Conrad Prosniewski~had talked about setting up a tolerance program for people convicted of hate crimes.

Events No Place for Hate could participate in: Meghann Ackerman said she would find some March and April dates that could work for an event with the Mayor.

Lucy Corchado said a fundraiser for the Latino Festival will be held in May and the Festival is in June.

Scott Weisberg asked for fundraiser ideas for the memorial. He suggested approaching businesses for donations.

The meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
