The City of Salem Hires Human Resources Director
SALEM, MA – Beginning Monday, March 5, 2007, the City of Salem will have a new Human Resources Director.
Mayor Kimberley Driscoll has named Lisa Cammarata, a Salem native, as the City’s new Human Resources Director. For close to the last 7 months City Solicitor Beth Rennard has served a dual role as the acting HR Director and the City’s in-house legal counsel, since the former director’s resignation. Cammarata brings a wealth of professional expertise to the City of Salem. She is bilingual, an attorney and has worked for the Lawrence Housing Authority for over 20 years.
Most recently, since 1999, Cammarata has served as Deputy Director of the Lawrence Housing Authority. She has served in many other capacities over her tenure at the Authority including Assistant to Executive Director, Project Manager, Manager and her current post of Deputy Director.
Cammarata is a highly accomplished professional that the City of Salem is fortunate to have landed. “Lisa has a broad range of experience and expertise that will enable her to hit the ground running as the City’s Human Resources Director,” Mayor Driscoll stated. “I am excited to have her on board.”
Cammarata earned her Juris Doctor from Massachusetts School of Law and was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in June of 2000. She received her Bachelors of Arts from Merrimack College in North Andover. Cammarata lives on Larkin Lane in Salem.
