WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS
Raymond Road, Raymond Avenue & Fairview Avenue
WATER SERVICE INTERRUPTION NOTIFICATION
This notice is to inform you that as part of the Lafayette Street Area Water System Improvements Project, water service will be shutdown on Raymond Road, Raymond Avenue and Fairview Avenue on Thursday, June 22, 2006 from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Once water service is restored, you may experience brown water. This is not unusual. Do not turn on your hot water. Brown water could cause damage to your hot water tanks and boilers. Let your cold water run until the water clears. Also, do not do laundry until your water runs clear. For more information you may contact the Department of Public Services Office at (978)-745-9595, ext. 321 or the DPW Garage at (978)-744-3302. Thank you for your patience while we perform these upgrades in your neighborhood.

ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS: BARR STREET
Beginning Thursday, June 22, 2006, the City of Salem Department of Public Works (DPW) will begin roadway improvements on Barr Street. The street resurfacing work will encompass grinding of the street surface, crack sealing, and raising of structures. Structures include sewer & drainage manholes, gas & water castings and boxes, and catch basins. Structures will be raised so they are flush with the new roadway. Work is expected to take approximately one week, depending on the weather. Please note: In some cases during these improvements, the contractor may need to access hydrants, which could result in residents experiencing discoloration in their water. This is not unusual. If you experience brown water, please run your cold water continuously until it becomes clear. Do not run your hot water as it could cause damage to your hot water tanks and boilers. For more information you may contact the Department of Public Services Office at (978)-745-9595, ext. 321 or the DPW Garage at (978)-744-3302.

ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS: DERBY & CONGRESS STREETS INTERSECTION and MILL HILL/CANAL STREET/RILEY PLAZA
Beginning Monday, June 12, 2006, the City of Salem Department of Public Works (DPW) will begin roadway improvements at the intersection of Derby and Congress Streets and the intersection at Mill Hill, Canal Street and Riley Plaza. We have been informed by the contractor that the scheduled roadway improvements will take place during the late evening hours. Specifically, work will begin at 8pm. This should minimize the disruption of traffic flow in these two areas.
