NORTHSIDE AND THE PHOENIX SCHOOL COMBINE FORCES TO KICK OFF HAUNTED HAPPENINGS
NORTHSIDE AND THE PHOENIX SCHOOL COMBINE FORCES TO KICK OFF HAUNTED HAPPENINGS

Northside Carting was proud to be part of the City of Salem’s Haunted Happenings parade on October 2nd.  Northside provided two trucks, and the recycling committee, lead by Julie Rose, was able to get the Phoenix School to decorate the trucks with a recycling theme.  All of the children and parents did a great job in creating one of the most original displays in the entire parade.  Not only did they decorate the truck with recycling material, but all of the children’s costumes where made of household recyclable material.

As the parade got underway the parents and recycling committee handed out recycling flyers and decals to spectators in order to better inform the people of Salem of the new opportunities to recycle and reduce the amount of trash.  At the end of the night, the recycling float was a huge success.

I would like to thank the following people whom, if not for them, this event would not have been anywhere near as successful: Julie Rose, Jim Rose, Katie Geddings, Cheryl Cripps, and Mark George.

Most of all however I would like to give a special thanks to the people from the Phoenix School.  This was truly a community event. There were many helpful hands that made this the success that it was.  A special thanks to the owners of the school, all of the parents, and last but not least, the stars of the show, the children themselves.  If you find yourself on Jefferson Ave. someday stop by and see the great folks at the Phoenix School. I can assure you that what you see will impress you.
