Salem School Committee

Minutes of Organizational Meeting
Monday, January 4, 2010

The Salem School Committee held its Organizational Meeting for the year 2010 on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 10:00a.m. in Old Town Hall, Salem, MA.

Members Present:  Mayor Kimberley Driscoll, Nate Bryant, Kevin R. Carr, Dr. Janet Crane, Mrs. Kerry Martin, Mr. James Fleming, and Dr. Brendan Walsh.

Members Absent:  None

Others Present: Eileen Sacco, Secretary.

Mayor Driscoll administered the Oath of Office to the School Committee members.

Election of Vice Chair

Mr. Fleming nominated Dr. Janet Crane to serve as Vice Chair of the School Committee for the year 2010.  Mr. Carr seconded the nomination.

Dr. Walsh moved that the nominations be closed.

Mayor Driscoll called for a roll call vote as follows:

Mrs. Martin             Dr. Crane
Mr. Bryant              Dr. Crane

Mayor Driscoll declared that Dr. Crane has been elected the Vice Chair of the Salem School Committee for the year 2010.

Election of Executive Secretary

Mrs. Martin nominated Eileen Sacco, to serve Secretary to the School Committee.  Mr. Bryant seconded the nomination.

Dr. Crane moved that the nominations be closed.

Mayor Driscoll called for a vote on the motion.  The motion carried.

Mayor Driscoll declared Eileen Sacco elected as Executive Secretary to the School Committee.

Motions, Orders and Resolutions

There are none.


Adjournment

There being no further business to come before the School Committee Dr. Walsh moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Mr. Fleming and approved.

The motion was approved (7-0).
