April 12, 2012
Board of Commissioners of Trust Funds                            Draft
Minutes of the April 12, 2012 Meeting

Present:  Robert Lutts, Raymond Vaillancourt, Thaddeus Buczko
               and William P. Goreham
Absent:   Mayor Driscoll

Robert Lutts called the meeting to order at 5:30 P.M.

The Salem Council on Aging submitted six names for medication expense reimbursement.  The Board reviewed the requests and Thaddeus Buczko made a motion to approve $587.54 from the Endicott Fund for payments.  The motion was seconded by Raymond Vaillancourt and voted unanimously.

Robert Lutts made a motion to approve the minutes of the March 8, 2012 meeting with the addition of Thaddeus Buczko’s name to the present line and “investment policy” in place of statement.  The motion was seconded by Thaddeus Buczko and voted unanimously.

Robert Lutts submitted his resignation as Treasurer and member of the Board effective June 30, 2012.  He has made further commitments to other non-profit organizations and will be taking a more active role in the national retirement organization of the YMCA.  This has made it necessary to reduce some of his other more local commitments.   He will continue to serve the City of Salem in his role as member of the City of Salem Retirement Board.

Salem State University submitted their bills for the Darwin Festival Lecture Series.  This was approved for $2,500.00 as a FY12 Large Grant.  The total bills received for honorariums, travel and expenses were $2,498.10 and will be reimbursed from the Read Lecture Fund.

A letter was received for the Salem After the Prom Committee for support of their annual event for Salem High School seniors.  Raymond Vaillancourt made a motion to approve $500 from the Browne School Funds for the event.  The motion was seconded by Thaddeus Buczko and voted unanimously.
