  • Canal St. Multi-Use Path Project/Street Reconstruction – The City is working with MassDOT to secure funding for the Southern missing portion of the Canal St off-road path that will not be built as part of the Canal St road reconstruction that recently went out to bid. However, City Engineer Dave Knowlton is optimistic that it will be funded in fiscal

 

  • MassDOT Complete Streets Grant Program – This MassDOT funding program will be released in the Winter of 2016 with awards going out in the Spring of 2016. Discuss potential places for protected lane projects (Lafayette, Loring, Highland Ave, Boston St)

 

  • MAPC Master Plan Update/Pilot Protected Lane  - MAPC has asked the Committee to look at several routes that might serve as a good place to implement a pilot protected bike lane using paint as a temporary way to show protected lane feasibility. Possibly Spring 2016 Lafayette St or Loring Ave.

 

  • Szetela Ln to Derby St Connection – City is now working with VHB Engineering to make the connection through the parcel at Szetela Ln, through Beattie Park and out to Derby St where there will be new bicycle accommodations. City also moving forward with VHB on other bicycle transportation accommodations.
