"How Can We Protect Salem's Coastline?" Tuesday, October 13
The Living Shoreline Project
with the City of Salem

7:00 - 8:00pm, Bentley School, 25 Memorial Drive, Salem

Learn about this new initiative to protect Salem's waterfront from sea level rise and storm surge. At this meeting, sponsored by Salem Sound Coastwatch and the City of Salem, the Living Shoreline Project will be presented.

Residents will be asked to share their concerns about erosion, flooding, and coastal damage.

The living shoreline concept is to use plants and other natural materials to strengthen the coastline's resistance to storms and sea level rise. Volunteers will be recruited to help survey the coast, and community involvement is important to the success of this project.
