Saturday, October 22: Coastsweep
Volunteers are wanted for beach cleanups sponsored by Salem Sound Coastwatch. These will be Coastsweep cleanups; everything picked up will be recorded! Each fall volunteers throughout the world collect thousands of tons of trash from beaches, marshes, riverbanks, and the seafloor. Everything picked up is recorded and the data is used to find solutions for keeping trash from polluting the ocean. Man made trash harms fish, birds, and other sea life.
The Saturday, October 22 Coastsweep will take place at Dead Horse Beach in Salem at 9am.
Gloves and bags will be provided. RSVP is requested.
