SALEM, MA – Mayor Dominick Pangallo today announced the relaunch of the City’s ‘Doing Business in Salem’ guide. Created in 2009, the guide has since undergone several updates. This latest revamp includes a variety of checklists to help navigate the local permitting processes, live links to resources at the local, state, and federal level, contact information for city departments and local and regional organizations that offer business support, and tons of helpful hints scattered throughout its pages.

“Owning a business is an exciting venture filled with challenges,” said Mayor Pangallo, “this guide offers existing and prospective entrepreneurs a well-organized and streamlined handbook in which to navigate them. Particularly exciting are the extensive opportunities for business development and growth offered both by the city and its local and regional economic development partners like the Salem Chamber of Commerce, Salem Main Streets, the Enterprise Center at Salem State University, SBA Small Business Development, Mill Cities Community Investment, MassDevelopment, and North Shore Community Development Coalition. I hope this Guide helps you start or expand your business in our great historic city.”
