Salem Spins Bike Sharing Program
Looking for a convenient and leisurely way to tour historic Salem?
Want to reduce your transportation-related carbon footprint?
Need free transportation?
Your search is over!
Salem Spins bicycles are available downtown on Hawthorne Boulevard near the Hawthorne Hotel.
How does Salem Spins work?
Simply drop by the front desk at Hawthorne Hotel, show them a credit card and valid ID, sign the user agreement, grab a helmet and key and be on your way*! There is no fee or time limit for using the bikes! Hub hours are daylight-dependent, and currently set at 8am – 6:30pm, 7 days a week.
For the Salem State University community, there is also a hub on the Central Campus at the Campus Police station. Just show your Clipper Card to borrow a bike. Note that SSU hub hours are 9am – 5pm, Mon – Fri.
Salem Spins is a joint effort of the City of Salem and Salem State University, with support from the Hawthorne Hotel and Salem Cycle, and is Green Communities grant-funded.
* - Please note that Salem Spins bicycles are currently available only to riders 18 years of age or older. Coming soon: seasonal registration to expedite check-out.
