Lead Paint Hazard Abatement

Do you have lead paint hazards in your home or apartment? In addition the lead paint hazard abatement programs offered through the City, the Commonwealth offers tax incentives for deleading and has resources to educate parents on how to keep their children safe:

  • Massachusetts Deleading Tax Credit - Residential property owners who perform lead paint abatement or removal and obtain a Letter of Full Compliance from the State are eligible for a one-time State tax credit. Contact: MA Department of Revenue at (617) 887-MDOR or (800) 392-6089
  • Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program - The Commonwealth Department of Health and Human Services Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP) was established for the prevention, screening, diagnosis, and treatment of lead poisoning, including the elimination of sources of poisoning through research, education and clinical activities.
