Washington Arch

First built in 1805, the original Washington Arch was built in tribute to George Washington, the nation’s first President and Commander-in-Chief.  It was originally designed by Samuel McIntire of Salem.  The current iteration of the arch was built in 1976, and restored by the Salem Common Neighborhood Association in 2015.
