Income-Eligible Memberships
Bluebikes is proud to offer reduced cost memberships for qualifying residents for $50 per year, or $5 per 30 days of riding.
Same benefits. Lower price.
Members get unlimited 60-minute classic bike rides, reduced ebike rates—and a whole lot more. After 60 minutes, there’s an additional fee of $0.07 per minute for classic bikes. The easiest way to get going is to use the app, but we can also mail bike keys to members who may not have smartphones.
Who’s eligible
Massachusetts EBT Card holders and those who qualify based on income or participation in other assistance programs listed under requirements below, are eligible for a $50 annual or $5 monthly Bluebikes membership. Residents and some non-residents aged 16 or older can also qualify based on income or participation in other assistance programs such as the Boston Bike Pass for Boston residents.*
Note: You cannot use SNAP benefits to purchase your membership.

Requirements
- Members must be 16 or older
- Members must provide a credit, debit, or prepaid card
- SNAP recipients must provide an EBT card number (for verification purposes only)
- Members must qualify based on income, or participation in other assistance programs such as: Fuel Assistance (LIHEAP), Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8), MassHealth, Pell Grants, Public Housing (e.g. Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, or Somerville Housing Authorities), SSI/SSDI, and WIC.

Additional pricing
The first 60 minutes of each ride on a classic bike are included in the membership.
Members are charged $0.07/minute after 60 minutes.
Ebike rides cost $0.07/minute.
All Income Eligible members who live in Boston can get a $5/year membership.
Renewing your membership
There’s no annual commitment for monthly members. Your membership renews after 30 days only if you ride again. You’ll be charged the $5 monthly membership at that time.
