Essex Street Roadway Improvements Projects
Project Summary: Essex Street Roadway is being reconstructed as part of the Complete Streets Prioritization Plan. Project limits are from the intersection of North Street/Summer Street to Washington Street. The work includes roadway pavement reconstruction, new ADA compliant sidewalks, ramps and crosswalks, a raised intersection, new street lighting, incorporation of new trees mixed with existing trees.
Project Update:
Road construction has begun on Essex Street between North Street and Washington Street. Keep a look out for 2-week look ahead notices in the links below.
Final road paving is scheduled for Thursday, July 28th. Drivers, seek alternate routes as road closures will be in effect. To access Sewall Street parking lot, use Washington Street to Lynde Street. Sidewalks will be open to pedestrians during road paving.
