The Spirits Speak: Magic, Mediums, and Mentalism
A NEW October Experience presented by Essex Heritage!

Experience the mystery of Victorian spiritualism revealed by local magician Evan Northrup. Witness the popular gilded-age spectacle where the veil is lifted between the living and the dead. The Spirits Speak is a historically accurate recreation of a Victorian-era séance produced and performed by acclaimed local magician Evan Northrup in partnership with the Essex National Heritage Commission. Drawing from popular pastimes and performances of the period, this program is intended to highlight the Victorian interest in spiritualism and its integration into popular magic and theater of the day. Through the clever use of illusions and stage magic, the audience will witness the techniques used by mediums and mentalists of the period.

This event is presented as a part of Essex Heritage's Field Institute in partnership with the National Park Service.
