The City of Salem joined BlueBikes, MetroBoston’s public bike share system, on June 16, 2021 (see the BlueBikes news item). The expansion into Salem, consisting of eight stations and 50 bikes, is made possible with funding from MassDOT, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Salem State University, and Salem Hospital. The bike share system provides a healthy and sustainable way for residents, employees, and visitors to get around Salem without driving.

Membership and pricing: A single BlueBikes membership provides access to bikes across the system—in Salem, Boston, and all other communities where BlueBikes operates. BlueBikes offers a variety of membership options, including discounts for income-eligible riders.

Locations: See the system map for locations of bike stations in Salem.

Contact: For customer service, please contact BlueBikes directly.
