Installers Announcement

Solarize Mass Plus, a partnership between the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC), the Department of Energy Resources (DOER) and local communities, encourages the adoption of renewable energy technologies and reduces the overall cost of these technologies in municipalities across the state. Home and business owners can save as much as 21% on average on solar photovoltaic (PV) pricing compared to the statewide average.

The City of Salem has partnered with the Towns of Swampscott and Nahant to launch a joint campaign (“Solarize North Shore”) to promote and facilitate the implementation of solar PV panels (A.K.A. solar panels), solar hot water systems, and air source heat pumps (A.K.A. mini-splits) throughout the three communities. The collective goal is to raise awareness about the various benefits that they offer and increase their adoption.

“A great feature of the Solarize North Shore campaign is its additional grant support to promote these opportunities to low- and moderate-income homeowners,” says Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll. “It’s important that all members of our community have equal access to these technologies. Together, we can create a cleaner and greener city for all.”

After an extensive vetting and interview process, the Solarize North Shore team has chosen the following installers, each offering a different technology:

Solar Panels: Boston Solar

Air Source Heat Pumps: New England Ductless

Solar Hot Water: New England Solar Hot Water (NESHW)

In order to address a wide range of questions regarding the program itself, the green technologies, the installers, as well as the rebates and incentives, multiple public information events will be held to give home and business owners a chance to meet the team and get their questions answered.

Nahant will hold its “Meet the Installer” night on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at the Nahant Lifesaving Station (96 Nahant Rd., Nahant, MA) from 7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. Refreshments will be served.

Swampscott’s “Meet the Installer” event will coincide with their Energy Fair sponsored by National Grid. It will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 from 6:30 P.M. - 8:30 P.M. in the Atrium of Swampscott High School (200 Essex St., Swampscott, MA).

Salem will hold its city-wide “Meet the Installer” event on Monday, December 9, 2019 from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the Community Life Center (401 Bridge St., Salem, MA). Refreshments will be served.
