Private Paul Bourgeault served in the US Army during World War I. He was born on July 17th, 1895 in Brompton, Quebec. Prior to serving, he worked as a mill hand and lived on 56 Dow Street. Private Bourgeault initially enlisted on October 4th, 1917 to the 151st Depot Brigade. He was later transferred on November 11th, 1917 to Company K, 328th Infantry, 82nd Division. He arrived overseas on May 1st, 1918.

Tragically, he was killed in action near Sommerance, France on October 15th, 1918. He was the son of Gilbert and Pamela Bourgeault and brother to Amedee, Fortunat, Celina, Alma, Maria, and Elmira, Claudia Luc, and Thomas, who served in Company F, 348th Infantry, 87th Division during World War I.

His square is located at the corner of Washington and Canal Streets, dedicated in his honor.
