Private HLegerector “Jack” Leger served in the US Army during World War I. He was born on September of 1893 in Fall River. Prior to serving, he worked as a clerk. Private Leger initially enlisted on July 6th, 1918 to Fort Hamilton, New York. He later transferred on July 30th, 1918 to Fort Hamilton August Automatic Replacement Draft; September 10th, 1918 to 54th Coastal Artillery Regiment; and September 15th, 1918 to Battery F, 53rd Coastal Artillery Regiment. He arrived overseas on August 17th, 1918.

Tragically, he died from bronchopneumonia on September 27th, 1918. He was the son of Alexander and Rose Anne and brother to Blanche, Dorothy, Dora, Lariau, Jeannette, Germaine, Aime, Luciene, Raymond and Rene, who served with Company H, 104th Infantry and World War I. 

His square is located at the corner of Glover and Leach Streets, dedicated in his honor.
