      Adrian J. Pelletier                           

PelletierPrivate Adrian J. Pelletier, a former resident of 26 Charter Street, served as a US Army Paratrooper during World War II. He was born on February 13th, 1920 in Canada. Private Pelletier enlisted on August 22nd, 1942 in Fort Devens, Massachusetts and would later serve with the 502nd Parachute Infantry, 101st Airborne Division.

Tragically, he was killed in action on June 8th, 1944 in Normandy, France. His awards include the Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, American Campaign Medal, and World War Two Victory Medal. His remains are buried at the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, France. He was the son of Joseph and Homeryle Pelletier.

His square was approved by the City Council on October 25th, 2012 and is located at the corner of Hawthorne Boulevard and Charter Streets, dedicated in his honor.
