Terranova Square

Private Salvatore Terranova served in the US Army during World War I. He was born around 1888 in Palozzola, Italy. Private Terranova initially enlisted on December 18th, 1917 to 19th Company, 5th Training Battalion, 151st Depot Brigade.

He tragically died of disease at Camp Devens, Massachusetts on April 6th, 1918. He was the son of Guiseppe and Marnaria (Gallo) and nephew of Salvatore Gallo of Salem.

His square is located at the corner of Margin and Norman Streets, dedicated in his honor.
