Quartermaster Sergeant Charles A. Wilkins served in the US Army during World War I. He was born on April 6th, 1895 in Newfields, New Hampshire. Prior to serving, he worked as a cost accountant and lived on 23 Barr Street. Quartermaster Sergeant Wilkins initially enlisted on December 13th, 1917 to 1st Painters Company, Quartermaster Corps. He was later transferred to 3rd Clerical Company, Quartermaster Corps and on April 13th, 1918 to Motor Supply Train 412, Quartermaster Corps. He was promoted to Corporal on June 5th, 1918 and to Quartermaster Sergeant on July 21st, 1918. He arrived overseas on June 30th, 1918.

Tragically, he died of disease in Neufchateau, France on September 28th, 1918. He was the son of George and Edith Newhall (Gunnison) Wilkins, brother to Bertha, husband to Irene Anna Shattuck, and father of Dorothy May.
