- City Engineer Update on Complete Streets/Pilot Protected Lane Project/Master Plan – David Knowlton, City Engineer, will update the Committee on the various Complete Streets projects. This will include the Canal St. off-road path, the Jefferson/Canal/Loring intersection design changes, the ideas for the Master Plan update, and VHB’s work on bicycling infrastructure projects in Salem. Dave is looking for input and comments from the Committee to move forward on these initiatives.
- Salem Bicycle Share Proposal – The City is exploring options to upgrade the existing Salem Spins program to a more automated, bike-share style model similar to Boston’s Hubway bike share system. Dan Shuman, Jeff Elie, Dominick Pangallo, and representatives from Salem State met with Dave Reed of Zagster to discuss details of their turnkey service and options for hubs in Salem and at Salem State. Dan will update the Committee about details of the meeting.
- Project Tracking Form – Go over a new project tracking form for the Committee so we can keep track of projects. Form will be shared with Committee members online and also available online to update/comment on.
