Chase Street Water Main Replacement

Chase Street is slated for a water main replacement starting February 1st, 2021.

City Contractor N. Granese & Sons, Inc. will mobilize to the site and begin replacing the water main on portions of Chase Street (Salem Street to the dead-end) and Salem Street (from Leavitt St. to the Saltonstall School). This work is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete, but schedule may be extended by weather.

Water service interruptions will be avoided by installing a new water main alongside the existing water main. Following completion of the water main installation in the street, the water services will be removed from the existing main and connected to the new water main in the street. There will be temporary service interruptions during this time. You will be given a minimum of 24-hours advanced notification of any planned water service disruptions. However, due to unknown conditions, it is possible that an unplanned water service interruption will be required.

The work hours for this effort is 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. During this project, the area will be an active construction site and you should be careful and drive at a reduced speed accordingly. On the days when the Contractors are working, it is important not to have cars parked in the roadway. No parking signs will be posted in advance of construction and no-parking will remain in effect until construction is complete for that day. You will always have access to the street after work hours. Police details will be present to assist everyone through the work zone and to facilitate traffic management.
