George A. Beal

George A. Beal of 28 Eden Avenue served in the US Army during World War I. He was born on August 14th, 1890 in Westport, New Hampshire yet lived in Massachusetts for twenty years prior to serving. George initially enlisted on December 15th, 1917 to the 25th Receiving Company, Quartermaster Corps of Camp Johnston, Florida. Tragically, he died from disease less than a month later on January 10th, 1918 in Camp Johnston. His remains are buried in the Longmeadow Cemetery in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. He was the son of Albert and Mary and brother to Mary, Robert, Charles, Grace, Frank, William, Fannie, and Mrs. Adams, all of Springfield, Massachusetts. He was also brother to Lyman.
