Raymond F. Johnson

Raymond F. Johnson of School Street served in the US Army during World War I. He was born on May 9th, 1894 in Salem and worked as a dealer in automobile supplies prior to serving. Raymond initially enlisted on May 19th, 1917 and assigned to Battery B, 12th Field Artillery, 2nd Division. He served overseas from January 11th, 1918 to May 1st, 1919. Tragically, he died from disease at the US General Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut on June 24th, 1919. He was the son of William and Ida (Stanwood) Johnson of Beverly and brother to Irving, Ruth, and Ernest.
