Raymond F. Johnson

Raymond F. Johnson of School Street served in the US Army during World War I. He was born on May 9^th, 1894 in Salem and worked as a dealer in automobile supplies prior to serving. Raymond initially enlisted on May 19^th, 1917 and assigned to Battery B, 12^th Field Artillery, 2^nd Division. He served overseas from January 11^th, 1918 to May 1^st, 1919. Tragically, he died from disease at the US General Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut on June 24^th, 1919. He was the son of William and Ida (Stanwood) Johnson of Beverly and brother to Irving, Ruth, and Ernest.
